Meh, the doubles thing is easy to get around. If you want, say, a double crown and coke, you just order a crown and coke and a shot of crown.

I've found a couple of places that serve doubles , so I don't know if that's a Mass thing or at the discretion of the bar. Although one of the places warned me that it was really a shot and a half and not a true double.
Only like 2 bucks more.
