Plenty of great places to grab oysters. If you'd like a wide variety, check out Neptune Oyster House. Although I don't think they do $1 oysters. I will look into some good spots near beacon hill that do though.
There's a bunch of great breweries worth checking out: Trillium, Night Shift, Aeronaut, Harpoon, just to name a few. I would highly recommend skipping Sam Adams though.

I thought Harpoon's beer was meh but loved that space and atmosphere. Went out to Trillium a few weeks ago w/o realizing they close at 430 on sundays 
Also, how is the Baseball Tavern for SEC games? I think I'll be there for the LSU-Auburn game
