This is one of the most confusing off-the-field sagas I've seen.

What's confusing? The only thing that was confusing is why they waited so late for him to have surgery. Other than that, nothing wrong at all with steppin away from the spot light for a while. Becoming an immediate superstar in front of an entire country is a lot to handle for someone his age. A lot of them don't handle it so well. Look at Johnny Manziel. The fame fricked that dude up.

What was confusing was how at first it seemed like personal issues, and then how much emphasis was put on his injury. Was it injury or personal issues? Or both? You usually hear clearly one way or the other, but we never heard coach O mention anything other than his shoulder was hurt. Almost like he refused to acknowledge anything that his dad said here. Just still seems like we're not getting the whole story.

I'm sure they waited so late because they weren't 100% sure he was coming back. Once he came back, then they performed the surgery.

Lots of kids rocket into stardom and most handle it fine. How about Lamar Jackson and Sam Darnold? Guice? They didnt leave their teams did they?

If he had to have a break to get right, then you applaud him for doing it. But its disappointing it required that to begin with I suppose.... and then there's the whole injury debacle....

Manziel had a history of being a frick up long before he ever took a snap in college football. He grew up as a very privileged kid.

Johnny Manziel

Had a friend that played against him in HS. Said he was a major douche long before fame caught up with him
