I missed the canelo-mayweather fight but could someone give insight on why Canelo was not more successful in that fight and how he has progressed leading up to this fight?

Well Canelo was only 22 and had to weigh in at 152. He was weight drained and just was too inexperienced to deal with Mayweather's slick style. Since then Canelo has won every fight and has beaten Cotto, Khan, Smith, Kirkland, Chavez Jr.. Not amazing opponents but he has looked like a different animal.

In a normal scale, no. For this fight, its not good.
1.5 mil would be a top 10 PPV of all time - boxing, MMA, or wrestling. But you think that would be "terrible"? These boxers are relatively unknown to the general public.
1.25 - 1.5 mil PPV buys is solid for anyone not named Mayweather.

Put me down for GGG with a late TKO.
Alvarez couldn't hurt a blown out Chavez he certainly isn't going to hurt GGG.
Neither fighter has never been down so this could get interesting. Both fighters love to go to the body so it'll come down to which fighter is more effective at that.
One interesting thing to watch is Alvarez has never been hit as hard as he's about to be hit so it'll be interesting to see how he responds to that.

Exactly what I'm going for GGG TKO round 9-10.... If Canelo wins then I'll be happy as well I love both fighters

Around what time will the fight start?

If Golovkin is aggressive (à la Brook fight), Golovkin KO7. If Golovkin is not aggressive (à la Jacobs fight), Canelo by unanimous decision.
Bottom line, I can't even predict a winner. I think it comes down to how aggressive GGG is. But I'm afraid he won't be. I'm afraid he'll try to box
No matter what, though, I am pumped! Great respect for both guys for manning up and taking this fight. I hope they give us the show we all want!

Canelo wasn't near his peak or prime, he was 22, 23 at most
Very tough weight cut for that fight
And mayweather just had an awesome strategy
