Bought a weed eater for my dad. he has a lot of health issues and well, he forgets how to start his gas operated one. Its a 60V (?) plenty strong, charges last long enough for their smaller yard. I'm not a fan of the line dispenser head on it now.

Prepare your anus, battery powered yard equipment is for girls and hippies.
I recently bought the 40v 5amp 20" Ryobi from Home Depot for $299 and I love it. I plan to replace my Echo weed eater and McCLane Edger with the 40v equipment next year. Only complaints I have is that the deck height adjustment doesn't go quite high enough. I have thick St. Aug and I typically cut it high. The other issue is that the clippings bag is small.
As far as battery life and power, both are more than adequate.

I have a ryobi 8 inch 18v pole saw and a 40v ryobi blower both work well. My mother in law has the 40v ryobi weedeater and she loves it

I got the greenworks weedeater and blower, 20v I believe. They've actually worked great. I got have much to weedeater but sometimes it does take 2 batteries to hit it all. The blower is awesome and I have no complaints about it. They've been working perfect for 6 months now with weekly use out of each. I did buy the set separately so I got 2 chargers and batteries. I would definitely recommend having 2 batteries.
