The car is definitely real and it certainly seems to be a mid-engine. The confusion is from them selling the Z08 and "Zora" side by side, which seems a little strange. That is what has led the rumors, and because Cadillac has had several mid-engine concepts.

Chevy has branded their current IMSA DPi prototype racecars 'Cadillac', and won Rolex 24 @ Daytona this year in it. Maybe they're differentiating it from the Corvette by using that Cadillac V Series performance line?
