Yea, I am not a fan of putting it above the fireplace. And I'd prefer not to put it where I am forced to here. But as you can see, this wall is all brick. Another wall is all sliding doors to the backyard. I don't want to put my couch facing away from the sliding doors looking out over the lake. So this is the only real option.
