I thought Superbad was kind of timeless, not necessarily capturing the mid-00s. The soundtrack and vibe was essentially 1970s and the actions of the kids were kind of 90s-ish (Rogan's teenage years).
It's an incredible movie, but I don't think of it as a go-to time capsule type of film.
I think the late 90s teen movies like "Can't Hardly Wait" do a much better job.
As for more adult 90s "rave culture" mentioned earlier, GO was a great choice. I also think "Hackers" really got the new-wave cyberpunk freakshow stuff right too.
