Hvar Town and Stari Grad, Hvar (3 nights)

We did not like Hvar Town on the island of Hvar as much as Stari Grad. Hvar Town was cracking down on drunk Brits and young folks on holiday by imposing fines for drinking, picnicing, and sleeping in public and wearing bathing suits in the public square. My family of five was not the type of persons these fines were aimed at, but that did not stop an old geezer in St. Stephens from threatening us with a fine for eating our pastries outside the front of the church one morning while wating for the bus to Stari Grad. There was no one around and no one in the church we were bothering. That uptight dustbag can get bent.

Anyway, Hvar Town was beautiful and a bit touristy/expensive. We were lucky we just missed Yacht Week and the big summer concert series that was coming from Split. There were a lot of young good-looking people in town and lots of British yachts.

Stari Grad was cool, too. It's 2400 years old and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It has pre-Greek, Greek, Roman, and later archeological ruins and sites (like other places in Croatia).

First pic is of our Air BnB place in Hvar Town. Then its Hvar Town and Stari Grad.
