This is called Detrimental Reliance under the law, which is an equitable doctrine. The Dreamers believed, not being constitutional scholars, that Obama, as President, had the Authority to make the DACA deal, and no one got a court order declaring the DACA executive order unconstitutional.
The Dreamers, under equitable principles, thus should not incur detriment because they relied on Obama's apparent authority.

Oh I love this leap of logic.
Jesus H.
So if I break the law can I just declare myself someone who is not a constitutional scholar and get away with it.
This reminds me of Hillary's "intent" defense.

This is so ridiculous. Seriously. No wonder why we are raising idiots in this country. If they don't know laws, history, or the Constitution, we can do anything because our ignorance "allowed" it!

So they should be able to circumvent immigration laws because Obama told them, by himself, that it was ok?
If that's the case then we've got some serious issues in this country.
