After (successfully) making my first batch ever from a hide off a 8 lb shoulder, I am wondering where to find just pig hide, and how much is it?

For gratons you want belly fat, cracklins, back fat.

The little gas station on the corner of 42 and 933 in Prairieville sells them

Lamendolas. If you want just the skin with a layer of fat attached they call it "cracklin fat". This is what I make my cracklins from. I like them better than the meaty ones. They also have plain pig skin. The skin alone will give you pork rinds. Not sure that's what you want. If you are looking to make the meaty type cracklins, you want skin-on pork belly. I have never bought it there, but they probably have it. The cracklin fat and plain skin are cheap. A couple of bucks a pound or so.
