I must say, I'm not confident in our Navy's ability to beat China in a naval conflict right now.

Yeah, that's a pretty disturbing thought. Wouldn't be surprised is they start pushing further out in the South China Sea

I suspect there's a whole lot of competence there, but it's been a long time since we've done naval shite against another real navy.
I really would like to sign up and contribute, but the chance of getting stuck with some bum arse command doing dumb shite for 6 years really puts me off from it.
