It's fine to do this but not at a sporting event. You don't bring political issues to a sporting event.

I agree.

Stop playing the anthem at a game.

Problem solved.

But it's ok for those criminal cops to disrespect a segment of the population? This nation was built on protest. And racism of course.

I just hate seeing unharmed, innocent men and women being abused, and kill by cops.

do you drag your fat arse out of your recliner every time you watch a sporting event and they play the national anthem? of course you don't. Shut the frick up and mind your business

No, for two reasons. First, you almost NEVER have a network carry coverage of the National Anthem for anyone to see. If they did or when they rarely do we usually sing along in our house because we are teaching kids to remember to do this every time you witness it. And second, I'm not making a political statement in my den. These idiots are using this as a misguided platform. The owners should shut this down as these players are "on the clock" at a fricking game and are being paid really well to WORK there. If you want to do this on your own time, no problem and I support your right to do this. But, that's not what's happening.

Not that anyone asked but here is my .02. I served for 12 years and can't tell you how many times I stood at attention during the national anthem. A little not so well known fact is that it is against the UCMJ for a military member to not stand for the national anthem in uniform or not. The song may or may not mean more to some people. However, if I forced my political stance on the customers at my current civilian job, I would be fired tomorrow. Also, I don't see any of these players putting their paycheck or time into their cause. They just want to kneel on National Television and let someone else fix the problem. They can kneel, I defended that freedom. But I can also decide to not watch the NFL anymore because of it.

Well said! Thank you for your service!

If everyone who cares would stop supporting them, they would just play football and all political views would be banned by the owners. This is a fan driven event, they don't produce any life sustaining or life altering products. It's like someone spitting in your face and you giving them $150 to Do it.

You have missed the point so totally and completely...it's impressive. There are 90 neo-nazi groups in America, but a quick search didn't yield a total number of naziis, so I can't say exactly how many there are. What I can tell you is that there are 1,696 NFL players, which is about 0.00052491% of the American population, and ESPN counted 16 NFL players as having knelt during the national anthem last week, which is only 0.0000049520272361498% of the population. If you think the number of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem is a bigger problem than naziis chanting "blood and soil," then you read and watch too much pro-white nationalist news and commentary. I'll hang up and listen. Thnx!

Well, first Neo Nazis don't have 15 to 20 weekly contracted paid opportunities for millions of people to see their protests along with the media replays. For the record, THANK GOD THEY DON'T! So while your math may be spot on 16 players have a much greater impact just from the exposure of their protest. You forgot to factor that in. For the record I support everyone's right to protest peacefully but not while they are on the clock and being paid to be at work which the players are.

And you think it's ok for the NFL to discriminate against lap. Too many people in this country are just ignorant, or they just lie to themselves. And if that's it, you're ignorant.

People all outraged about some journeyman backup RB conducting himself respectfully, professionally, and not in anyway that disrespects this great country..... yet same group has no qualms about how the sitting president conducts himself respectfully, professionally, or in anyway that disrespects this great country or the office of the presidency.

Don't lump everyone into a Trump or no Trump camp. Not a big Trump supporter but definitely couldn't ever vote for Hillary. Just because you may vote for a candidate doesn't mean you can't be upset by their methods. I'm not a fan of Trump's methods when he runs his mouth way too much. I wish he would just zip it and do the work he promised to do.

Timing is perfect. More people watch football in this country than anything else on tv.
