I hope we continue the fight against extremism and terrorism. I think everyone can agree that they are a threat to everyone around the world. I don't think we need to occupy the country to fight them, though.

I don't think a Democratic society will ever thrive in that part of the world. If they want to live under a dictator or a theocracy, that is on them. If they want a democracy, they will have a revolution themselves. No need to sacrifice soldiers for a country that rejects us. They have been fighting each other for thousands of years. They aren't going to stop because we tell them to. Let them hash it out among themselves, and only respond to elements that threaten us or our allies.
