I bet a lot of sailors said that when losing their homosexual virginity.

The McCain seems to be living down to its namesake's descendent who has a history of crashes.

fricking inexcusable for the navy to be wasting hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money on this god damn bullshite. The navy needs to get its shite together
No shite. What will they do in time of war and submarines if they can't avoid above water vessels?

With a name like the McCain, it was bound to frick up horribly. Doomed the moment they gave it that name. Hope everybody on board is alright, though.

It's hard to be the captain of the boat when you're sucking off the crew.

And these people and ships are the ones we are relying on to shoot nukes out of the sky.

Missles work fine. Late night watch crews not so much it seems.

It's hard to miss a ballistic missles screaming upward though. They saw this ship, they just thought it was fine until it was too late

Someone lube up the turbines of the USS Lyndsey Graham and send him to the Philapines pronto.

Makes you wonder if the PLAN or something is trying to sabotage the USN

I just love the irony. We're gonna shoot a nuke out of the sky, yet we can't stop from running into other ships.

Pardon my ignorance, but why are we reliant on night watch crews? We spend a shite ton on these ships yet still depend on a human to notice a giant ship in the distance.

As recently as a couple of weeks ago, the Navy was using the USS John McCain to exert a right to free navigation by encircling those man-made islands in the South China Sea.

Gotta keep the translocation of STDS to a minimum.

Wasn't there a post about a large percentage our military being millennials now? Maybe our destroyers are stick shift?

No, just rely on humans to steer. They knew the ship was there, everything about it, and its course and speed a half hour before impact. They even communicated these details between the bridge and CIC long before the collision.

I'd love to explain why they didn't change course, or maybe why they chose the wrong one. But at the end of the day just like if it was a tank or an F35, a human is in control. The tech makes you aware of every detail you could ask for

I think it's named after maverick's dad.

Judging by its name, it was trying to start a war.
