They don't get the benefit of the doubt since they were open on what their goals were from the start. The Nazis and Klan are simply notorious, and if you are caught on camera marching alongside them, then you would get fired and your family and friends would be dismayed and ashamed if they were decent people.

If I was to give a person any benefit of the doubt that they weren't malicious here, I'd have to assume they were one of the stupidest people on the planet to march with Klansmen and Nazis. If you're on the Nazis side of the argument, you should really, really reconsider your position.
