You're overthinking it. Cersei is pretty much ready to agree to an armistice to buy time because she knows she's outmanned on the battlefield. She said as much when talking to Jaime.
quote:Yes, these are good reasons for Cersei to agree to a ceasefire.
Except (a) if Cersei is in such bad shape she wants and armistice then you should just finish her and (b) this is still a recipe to be betrayed.
By extension, these are reasons Dany shouldn't offer it.
But I guess my question goes into the idea of overall cooperation, joint defense etc.
I mean, of course if Dany says "I won't attack you or storm King's Landing, are you ok with that?", Cersei (and any other leader in real or fictional history) will say yes to that.
But the idea of opening up the gates and exposing your castle and army (I'm assuming they will offer a joint resistance); again, the "proof" of the threat Dany's side will offer is a zombie. Cersei already knows firsthand, from what Qyburn did to the Mountain, that having a zombie in chains does not necessarily mean the Night King is involved. It just means there's someone with arcane knowledge in play. Cersei has Qyburn, she and her advisors should at least consider Dany to have similar resources at her disposal.
Qyburn should state- if the field were reversed, and we had them trapped and besieged, you know I could create another zombie, to present as 'evidence'. All the firsthand accounts of a vast army of these are coming from her, and her ally Jon Snow; it could definitely be a ruse. Due to Snow, I don't trust the Wall and Night's Watch to be impartial.
I'd go along with this as long as it means they're not burning down the towers and Red Keep, but I wouldn't open the gates to their forces, and I wouldn't send our remaining troops out to the field.
Perhaps you should ask if someone you trust can be shown greater evidence; be escorted to and from the Wall. Someone who could verify the actual danger, and more to the point, someone who would be able to scout their forces and defenses, and see if we can find an advantage. It should be someone you trust, but can afford to lose if it's a trick. Tarly would have been perfect, but she just incinerated him.

I just don't understand why Dany doesn't get 3 dozen Dothraki on her dragons backs and go kill Cersei in the Red Keep. Should have done that immediately when she got to Westeros. Wouldn't burn down shite, and the only casualties would be some of the City Watch, the Mountain, and Cersei. Tyrion could probably convince Dany to let them spare Jaime since he wouldn't be capable of fighting anyway and to let Jaime take the Black for killing Aerys.
