picking up cigarettes for your parents

One year for halloween, my parents dressed me up as a pimp and our neighbors daughter up as a hooker. We didn't even know what a pimp and a hooker was other than that the hooker was obviously a trashy girl. She was wearing a short dress made out of a trash bag with a lot of makeup and high heels. I had on a coat, top hat, and a cane and a cigarette. We were probably 10 years old at the time. What the hell were they thinking?
I was also looking through old pictures with my ex girlfriend a year or so ago and she saw a picture of me and my cousin holding a lit cigarette at 10 or so years old while popping fireworks. She was shocked that my parents let me smoke at that age, but I explained that I wasn't allowed to smoke. That year, the firework stand was out of 'punks' so my parents and aunt and uncle gave us cigarettes to light the fireworks. We had to promise not to smoke them and I'm pretty sure we didn't either. Not that I remember at least.
