Thinking of taking up Jiu Jitsu in the Baton Rouge area

I train in BJJ in Houston but travel all over LA and TX and usually take my gi to roll. The only place in BR I have rolled at is at the UFC gym over on Perkins and Acadian. They have some legit instructors and a good school.

Good luck with starting out. Don't get overwhlemed. Jits is a marathon, not a sprint. The main thing in BJJ is finding a good school with a good atmosphere you fit into because your instructors/training partners will become almost as close as family.

BJJ is fun. I dabbled in it during college and it was fun. I didn't have a lot of time for it and it was informal classes at the rec center. It was just a free thing the student wanted to do. Got a few moves down but could muscle my way through most of the other students so I was not able to really practice my technique because of this. I know any legit person could beat me really easily.
