Does anyone have any good recommendations for a good hd antenna to use for tailgating??

Just get a $10 radio shack antenna (rabbit ears). It'll be HD

I'd go with a Mohu Leaf from Amazon.
Along these lines, I'm considering the DISH Tailgater for ESPN and SECN games with the pay per month service. Anyone have any experience with this?

I have a dish tailgater and it works great, I take the extra receiver from my house so there are no extra charges also it is very easy and finds the signal quickly.

My tailgate is selling our Dish Tailgater (the white one). It works well in more open areas, just struggles with signal due to our location. Interested in buying it?

I live outside of Nashville and in somewhat of a valley about 20 miles south of where the stations are broadcasting, and I have one of these. Works great. If you are tailgating, you should be able to get away with something with less juice, but $50 will get you one as powerful as anything that doesn't require mounting something to your house. If you're just trying to get local channels, HD antennas are very cheap.

We use the Dish Tailgater now, but CBS was always a struggle for us to pick up on campus AND at my house for that matter.

New thing is the Dish Play Maker. Don't have to be a Dish subscriber and pay as you go

How much? And what services do I need to make it work

You need rabbit ears to get CBS on campus. The flat HD leaf antennas will not pick up CBS

If you're trying to get CBS for an LSU Tailgate, good luck.
We have to tie that thing to the top of our tent just to get a reception.
