As others have pointed out, white supremacists will never vote for a Democrat (now that Byrd is gone anyway), so why would Trump give a shite about them from a "voter base" standpoint?

Trump won because he swept in a nice chunk of Obama voters.

If we are analyzing Trump motivation vis-a-vis his voters, then those swing voters are the people we look to, not people who would vote for him no matter what over a Dem, even if they had to hold their white noses.

But I realize these logical intricacies are of no moment when the spurned, spurred and spurious left is up in arms.

Maybe it'll sink in once the anger resides in a few years. Probably not though.
