We are fcked if O sticks with DE only because he's a senior. He doesn't seem to be improving since ever. There's always a pile of excuses for him. It's always the OL and/or the D is one of the best. At some point you have to improve and show something.

He is the same that he's always been. It would be nice to know the other guys are getting a fair shake and the same amount of coaching being put into DE. For O's job sake, I hope this changes.

"I thought he did fantastic," Orgeron said. "I think we (dropped) a long ball that would have been a touchdown - obviously it was on the money and we should have caught it. I thought his passes were on the money. He was under duress all day with a tremendous rush."

Etling in the scrimmage completed 5 of 11 passes for 86 yards with two touchdowns and no picks, according to Orgeron.

That was literally 7 days ago. Apparently the dropped TD pass was a 60 yarder which would have been 6/11 for 146 and 3 TDs with no INTs.

Lets not get too carried away with scrimmage stats.

Why don't we wait until the BYU game at least to started shitting all over a player just because he didn't throw for 450 yds and 10 td passes in a stupid scrimmage.

JJ and B. Harris was practice juggernauts but sucked huge donkey balls in a real game.

Matt Mauck threw 5 ints in his spring game. And he sucked so bad that he led them to win the National Championship.

Don't freak out over fall camp practices.

Etling has shown enough for us to know that he can be composed and make some plays from the pocket.

You guys who think that Brennan is even capable of competing already are being unreasonable. Orgeron said just last week that Brennan isn't getting many reps with the ones because he's still trying to learn the basics of the offense. He pointed out that it's not time yet.

It's almost impossible for freshman to be able to outperform a player the level of Etling at this stage. The success that Brennan is having is almost assuredly a scripted number of select plays with the intent of developing him and moving his down the learning curve. That's a whole lot different than being ready to be the starter.

Unless Brennan is a 1 in a decade player, Etling should be the starter for game 1.

Overall the offense dominated the defense, so I don't know where you are getting that no improvement nonsense from. Now when the offense practiced the two-minute drill, that's when the offense got its butts kicked by the defense, as coach O said the offense was not ready at all while the defense was more than ready. I assume that's when the interceptions and most of the incompletions occurred, as the offense had not worked on that aspect of the game yet during fall camp.

Relax everybody says Danny Etling is much improved from last year since his surgery. Anyway, Etling got all the reps with the number ones with the exception of only two snaps, which went to Myles Brennan.

Nonetheless, Brennan's stats come with the number twos, as he got the bulk of the snaps with the number twos during the scrimmage. The rest of the quarterbacks got two to three snaps each.
