And it's pretty telling that you didn't mention what he appealed to them with. Sure, his false promises to somehow triumph over free market economics to bring their jobs back was part of it, but so was playing on identity-based grievances.

This isn't a valid argument, because if you actually look at a detailed map of where he did best and improved the most over past republicans- it was in areas and counties that have been voting demcratic since the 1970s.

In Wisconsin, for example, trump did HORRIBLE for a republican in the milwaukee suburbs. Republicans usually win it by 35+, he only won it by 25+.
