I am expecting 8-4 this year and 10+ wins next year

Based on what? LSU's 2018 schedule (on paper at this point) looks much tougher than 2017. Instead of BYU (this year) LSU opens the season in Dallas vs. a Miami program that seems to be on the way up under Richt. The road schedule also looks tougher. Yes, Bama is in Baton Rouge, but LSU will go on the road to Auburn, A&M, Florida and Ark. The two Mississippi schools (probably the most winnable SEC games) are at home. Also, LSU drops Tenn. in exchange for Georgia.

LSU is going to have to navigate that schedule with a new (likely) inexperienced QB; no premier Heisman candidate on offense (Guice) and possibly some big changes on the OL. Plus, you never know what will happen with the OC/DC after this season and we certainly know that Ogeron can't become the de-facto coordinator of either group. He MUST (moreso than the avg HC) have great coordinators if he is to have success. He can't take over the play calling on offense like a Malzahn, McElwain, Mullen or on defense like a Saban, Muschamp, Smart.

5 SEC road games are NEVER easy. But THIS is Ogeron's year to make some noise. Not next season

This. Right on, brother. I can understand people looking at 5 road games and freaking out, but we will be favored in at least three and more likely 4.

10 wins will be slightly disappointing because it will likely mean we either lost in the swamp or lost to Auburn at home for the first time since '99.

I agree next year could be tough for the offense but that defense will be ELITE! We will def see what he can do next year. We have to hang onto these Coordinators and to suspect that they would be gone after this year is a little far fetched. The rest of your post is spot on.

We will need for either (1) of the veteran QBs to step up or have one of our (2) highly ranked guys to step up. We could always try the (2) QB system, use one for inside the 20s then another for RZ situations, mix it up. OL is a huge concern next year. We really need to focus there this year for next.

We'll see what CEH has this year at the tail back position. I think we'll be ok but next year might just be our growing pains year. I could see 8-4 next year. But then again that defense should be damn good so we shouldn't need tons of points. If Canada is who we hoped he would be maybe he can find enough on the roster to out score most of our opponents.
