Has anyone been to a game at Neyland?

Im going to the LSU and UT game in November. Looking at tickets im going for sideline behind the LSU bench. I found tickets for row 1 section C. Which is sideline right on the 50 behind the LSU bench.
I assumed row 1 would be as close as i could get especially with that being a sideline section.
But when i look at the seat it looks like its 1 section behind the area thats the closest to the field.
So my question is, are there reserved seats that are the closest sections that cant be bought by the general public?
Every site i try when i go for "best seats" they all bring up this area. But when i look at the actual seat, it looks like its still one section back from the field not the one thats right at the field.
Any insight from anyone who has been to a game in Knoxville would be appreciated. I'll try asking Tennessee fans about it too. But i was just wondering if LSU has tickets reserved that you can only get some other way.

Upper deck is steep, and made of sheet metal, not concrete.

If its like LSU Row 1 on 50 Yard Line you can see anything. I sat on Row 13 one time and it was terrible. I only sit there because the Ticket was Free.

I haven't found any headsets that are powerful enough to guarantee that I don't have to hear Rocky Top played 1,003 times during each half so No!

It is likely to be jam packed this year. 2011 wasn't so crowded, as UT fans didn't think the Vols would win. This year is different.
There is a reason that stadium holds 110,000+ fans: The bench seats in the upper decks are only 12 inches wide. Our giant LSU asses usually leave about 2 or 3 people without a seat on a row. There just physically is not enough room.
The concourses are actually smaller than LSU NEZ.
It's still a nice atmosphere, if you don't mind hearing Rocky Top 525,600 times in one night.

Way too low at field level, you will never see over the players, many who stand the entire game, coaches as well. And as noted, the seats are crammed in small & tight. Great venue, the Vol Navy is a good visual. Calhouns on the river is a must, Fri nite & pre game. We drank them out of kegs that Fri nite & it was only 10 pm or so.Prepare to walk your purple & gold arse off, though. It is up hill..a Tenn type hill, not a La. hill , & a long ways away from major parking.

Honestly one of the best game atmospheres I've ever been to (been to all SEC schools save LSU, Bama, and UF; Clemson; ND; Texas), and their teams were 2-3, 3-2, and 2-3 the three times I've been there. They get incredibly loud to the point it sounds like they're pumping crowd noise in the stadium. Very cool experience if you don't include listening to Rocky Top 5,000 times. Tailgating leaves a little to be desired for sure, but it's not bad.
Not that many bad seats in the stadium (outside of the seats being tiny) from what I can remember, so you should be fine. Scalping will probably be tough considering the amount of LSU fans who will probably make the trip. Not a bad idea to have a ticket in hand however you can get it.

I went in 2011 and like others have said, the upper deck seats are very small. It was a nice road trip and I have two tickets to go back this year. I don't know anything about the lower bowl but that's where my tickets will be this time. Overall, a very fun trip.

I'm currently sitting at a bar looking at Neyland. They have a great downtown next to stadium with tons of cool bars and restaurants. I plan on flying in for the game. We love visiting here.

Sat in the lower bowl in 2011 with the Tennessee fans. Heard upper deck seats were too narrow

All you have to do, is sing along. Feel free to use my lyrics:
Rocky top, you'll always be, #2 to me,
Good 'ole rocky top, go to hell Tennessee!
Rocky top, you'll always be, #2 to me,
Good 'ole rocky top, go to hell Tennessee!

As the others say, Tenn is a great gameday experience...I wish we got to go more than once every 6 years.
as for the seats, most LSU fans will be sitting in the uppers (like you do at most any other away game). The reason tickets are available in the area that you are looking is generally because the seats are too low to be good. that stadium is steep as hell, so don't be afraid to get something a lot higher in the lower bowl or in the uppers.

The upper deck seats are not that close together like everyone claims, however your knees will be in the back of the person sitting in front of you even if you are a midget.

Don't sit in upper deck or you will be sorry.

It's a nice game day atmosphere, but I disagree that it gets very loud. For the size of stadium that Neyland is, it's not all that loud.

I was there in 2006.....
On the field!!! Game winning touchdown was nuts.
Incredible experience.

Impressive, but not nearly as loud as one might expect. Went to the game in (was it '09?) when Jamarcus went on a 4TH qtr tear to beat and produce my favorite shade of orange - "quite orange".
Tailgating was pretty good, as was the Vol walk, but to my surprise, the parking lot near the stadium did not really get filled until way closer to game time than you might imagine. Still, the campus had lots of fall colors, and a good amount of tailgating, and the river area was fun to watch.
