Things they don't tell you.

The dead zone averages less than a meter thick of the water column from the floor up.

Every major river system on earth has a dead zone, it is naturally occurring because of the vegetation matter in the water deposited on the floor once the the flow of water slows down.

Farming practices up stream do contribute a minor amount to the size of the dead zone.

So reporting it is interesting, but any ideas or opinions on how to improve it.

I mean we are the mouth of a river that runs through or by what...10 states? Not including the smaller rivers that FEEDS into it. Like someone said above, its half the damn country.
