That 6% is still a really large number. LA also has the 8th largest number of African Americans. There is more than enough talent to go around and UCLA and USC have had extended periods of time where both were good together. UCLAs administration just has to stop sabatoging itself

The state of AL has similar AA populations as California (close to 2 MM people). Not saying it isn't a good base to pull recruits from, just showing that competition is fierce for a small sample size. There are some great football programs pulling from that pool.

Plus the majority of available HS players are Hispanic and Asian. Not that they can't be great at football but it's still misleading when you look at the overall number of people.
