And farming. If you look at the states that use a lot of energy per capita, it's places that produce energy, grow things, or still have manufacturing. Louisiana does a whole lot of two of those three things.

EDIT: All of those three things, if you count petrochem as manufacturing.

Now, let's talk about Maine. It's just fricking cold in Maine.
