I have no experience with greyhounds but the Mobile Greyhound Park announced yesterday that it is ending live greyhound racing at end of the month and have greyhounds available for adoption if you're interested:

The park will help with relocation, adoption and continued care for the approximately 400 greyhound dogs. Some of the animals may be moved to different tracks around the country including Pensacola Greyhound Park while others will be adopted into homes.
