That was painful to read. His assessment of the criticism of the Obama administration is both delusional and lacking substance. I could hardly continue reading when he said,
quote:

But we conservatives mocked Barack Obama's failure to deliver on his pledge to change the tone in Washington."

The whole diatribe is lacking any substance. His complaint seems to be that he doesn't like Trump's style. He doesn't like that Trump tweets so much. Well, most people don't.

But Flake still doesn't understand that the people who voted for Trump are willing deal with his unpolished and aggressive manner of communicating, and even his crudeness. They see those characteristics and feel it's more honest than the slick messaging style and disingenuousness of "traditional" political rhetoric.

The Obama example he gave fits this argument precisely. Obama may have uttered the words that he wanted to "change the tone in Washington", but his other words and actions showed that he was anything but serious about that. He came into power to attempt to radically change fedgov to a much more progressive agenda, and he would do anything and say anything to get that done. He had to hide his agenda as much as possible because he thought he knew better than the voters and Congress.

I still say that while I don't like the style of Donald Trump and I am growing impatient with his clown show administration, I have been pleased with his actual policy decisions thus far which have been very close to what he campaigned on. That makes him 10x'a more honest than Obama and most of the Washington establishment and certainly more than the MSM.

This fits my opinion to a "T" - I always was personally disgusted with Trump's persona. And am a bit more disgusted now that he is in a position of power and has an unprecedented opportunity to get the sails of the ship of state trimmed in the right direction.

I still - and always did - support the broad definition of his agenda. Boiled down to its essence it is as close to my conservative beliefs as possible in this modern era. I am disgusted with the chaotic and narcissistic antics he displays every time he opens his mouth.

It is the greatest paradox of my political lifetime. A genuine clown, with the impulses of a jilted 12 year old spoiled girl and the vocabulary of a 5th grade farmboy, is in the office of POTUS - and executing an agenda that fits very well with my own political belief system.

I don't know whether to shite or go blind.

But I know I do not regret my vote one bit - and am actually even more satisfied with the result than I ever thought I'd be.

This is why there will be trouble for many in' 18. Trump will be able to point to actions that back up his campaign promises and he'll be able to highlight how the GOPe obstructed his agenda. What are the GOPe types going to run on? We need more time? At least we aren't progressive Ds even though we voted with them to block Trump? We are statesmen and don't Tweet!?

Speak for yourself. I love 95% of Trump's tweets. Most Conservatives that fully understand that this is the only way for him to get his message across unfiltered by the highly liberal media like most his tweets too.

Sure, some of them are over the top, but a lot of them that at the time seem a bit crazy, actually make a lot of sense a few weeks later after some things get further exposed.
