I guess you're right. Leaving the office every day to drive to an acute care facility to get in the one hour a day visitation.
Driving hours to a rehab facility to make the one hour a week family visits.
Walking in the doors of the ER over and over again, hoping she wasn't dead this time.
Having to look at an empty chair at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.
Sitting in the parking lot watching the windows of the hospital unit hoping to get a glimpse of her still alive.
Having some drug dealer threaten to kill me in the parking lot of a hospital.
Standing over said drug dealer shoving a .357 in his mouth with tears in my eyes.
