As for peeing/pooping, you should be waking up every 2-3 hours to take him outside + reward. If you do that right, you'll never have an accident in the house
This. I was fortunate to be working at home when my dog was a puppy. Getting out of her crate and going outside every 2-3 hours plus a treat when ever she did her business outside had her potty trained in about 2 weeks. The key is to be able to consistently reinforce the incentive system. If you're gone all day and sleep all night, you're not really setting yourselves up for success.

During the night, I had an alarm set for every 2 hours to take the dog out. It was miserable for 1 month but was 100% worth it.
My dog's last accident was about 2 weeks after we got her, going strong for 1.5 years now
