Yes. The first reason why is because she is telling people to donate to a charity instead of giving her a gift, as if she assumes people are giving her a gift. Does anyone on the board buy birthday gifts for their friends? I don't. We usually go out to dinner or do something.. And the gift, I guess, it just being with your friends to celebrate your birthday.

If you don't donate, it makes you look like a dick, but if you do donate, you are probably just adding to her game.. While it is a good charity to give to, she is probably more interested in having people say "wow. she raised a lot of money just by asking her friends to give to the charity instead of buying her a gift. she is such a good person".

She already invited a bunch of us to some expensive restaurant to celebrate her bday

This happened to me several weeks ago. This is just my opinion, but when you make plans to go to dinner with a group of friends, keep it within a certain price range, I just think you have to consider others. It might be her birthday and she wants to pick somewhere she wants to go, but she is asking people to go out to dinner to a place that is more expensive than average and for people to donate to something under her name. How much money will it cost for everyone to go out a celebrate her birthday? You have to draw the line somewhere.

She's the chick that posts a selfie in a bikini with a caption "Sunday Funday!". So this thing kinda seems like another grab for attention and praise.
