I am going to be there December 9-16. You chose wisely, because this is the week after the Pop Warner Super Bowl (last day is December 9). Might be the least busy week in all of Disney.

Make sure you get tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is a separately ticketed event. Try for that Tuesday, as that is always the least busy Christmas Party since locals are less likely to take their kids on a school night. It is worth doing this and going to Magic Kingdom on a separate day, because they have 2 different fireworks shows.

We are also doing the Candlelight Processional, but you might be too late to get a dining plan for a guaranteed seat (you do not technically need a dining package, but you would need to wait in ridiculous lines without one). It sounds like it may be boring for a 3 year old, but I promise your kid will appreciate breaks like that.
