witnessed him get in a fight at OB's then as he was driving off he was waving a gun outside the car window.
What up homie! I remember that night... he was threatening a guy I used to work with with the gun... and it was right after the murders and all the speculation that he did it.

Small world. I was there at OB's that night as well.

If you were there on a regular basis, it's a good chance we know each other

I worked there as well, so I am sure we do.

You and I are almost too young to remember the extent of McElveen's power and what was going on at that time but drugs run rampant on I10 and I can remember rumors of Sulphur PD seizing and reselling drugs years ago as well.
While the post in the OP is too far fetched, I don't think it's unreasonable to consider that something was going on, Richard and other deputies were involved, and active cover ups took place.
It was definitely happening. But it was not sulphur PD is was sherrifs. I'm not naming names but in the mid-late 80s I personally knew through my parents someone who was in the middle of it. Busted with serious weight then let out soon after....back at it again...this man was a lifelong pro. My parents were very religious and for a time were trying to take him under their.wing and he was going to church and stuff and my dad told me of some of the stuff he said about that. No way that guy gets out of jail that easy with his record without being protected

We need the OT sleuths to connect this to the Clinton's!

I replied to this post and told him he was full of shite about Kevin Able . He has now deleted everything.

This is some True Detective shite right here

Never heard any of this stuff.... seems a bit far fetched, but usually this type of stuff isn't created in a vacuum. There is usually some sort of corruption that people start exaggerating on top of exaggerating.
I have an Uncle by Marriage over there named Ricky Edwards that was a Sheriff. Always heard he had a little south la corruption running through him. He tied to this stuff?

I've had a lot of interaction with this guy on Facebook the last few days as did my friend who was with Kevin Able when he committed suicide. Said he was going to revise what he originally said. He even updated his original Facebook post saying "do not share major update coming." Then as of today everything is gone.

There's a book out called Murder on the Bayou about eight prostitute/druggies that were murdered in about a three year span; supposedly alot of police involvement of covering up the murders to avoid getting caught about moving drugs... Edwards was the sheriff for most of the time the murders were occurring.
The book has some sensationalism and some broad assumptions, but even if 25% of it is true, the police/sheriff departments were crooked as frick.
In the book, in mentions the ellender and kks corner murders a little bit... Johnny lassiter was supposedly involved in hiding evidence in the kk corner murders and did a bunch of crooked shite while working for Jeff Davis parish.

I found Murder in the Bayou on Alibris for $9.99 hardcover or paperback.

I would have a pretty difficult time finding even a quarter of that particular book to be true. Broad assumptions and sensationalism combined with references to public records that do not exist kind of ruin the idea of credibility for me. There was a big teaser for the book in the form of an article a few years ago (perhaps the guy was gauging interest before expanding on his work?) and the sheriff that I think is still there now released a small rebuttal pointing out that the gentleman was referring to these documents and testimonies that he sure wish existed.
So maybe there is a conspiracy linking SuperSaints uncle with this new guy, and there is apparently a Multi-Agency Task Force which goes up to the level of the FBI and also includes Calcasieu PSO. And then the former sheriff from JDPSO is now involved with the Louisiana Sheriff's Association. So either this is a conspiracy and cover-up leading all the way up to state and federal agencies which have, for some reason, decided to protect these local agencies without remorse for anywhere between the 3 murders here or 11 total if these Jeff Davis 8 are related, or we have nothing.
As sad as the situations are and as much as I would like to lean toward the former to see closure for the families and friends involved, the latter just seems more plausible.
ETA: Sheriff responds to article
quote:
Sheriff Woods firmly stated, “The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office or anyone within the task force did not hand over any report pertaining to the investigation of the eight murders.”
quote:
“My response to that was I'd like to have a copy of it too,” Ivey said.

Was this the same Kevin Able who was in a bad car crash on 12th street around 1991?
Posted on 7/16/17 at 11:48 am to SuperSaint
It was public knowledge that Richard M. was involved in shady stuff. Never heard of his dad being involved. My dad was a deputy for the CPSD under Wayne and I never heard him implicate Wayne but he certainly knew about Richard.

I did not know Kevin very well. We ran in the same circles and some of my friends were close to him. I would assume there aren't a lot of Kevin Ables in Lake Charles though.

I probably should have typed "quite a bit" instead of "some" when saying it was sensationalized
Jeff Davis parish has come under fire in the past for lost drugs out of evidence and some shady stops on I-10, but it is hard to believe the FBI would protect them to that degree.
As far as McElveen and the murders in Sulphur and Lake Charles, it's way more plausible he had something to do with those.
