Inflation adjusted Arods contract is equivalent to $340 million today. MLB teams have had significant increased income due to TV deals etc.
Completely disagree regarding career duration. The oldest NBA player active is Vince Carter at 40. There are multiple MLB players over the age of 40.
Like I said the new CBA has changed things but lets wait till Harper signs his contract and then reevaluate

quote:NBA players are also getting their first and second large contract earlier... James Harden has already earned 90 million, he is set to earn another 228 million and then he will probably earn more smaller contracts. He will be what 32 when his current deal runs out so he could reasonably get another 100 million deal.

Stanton will be at 350 million when all is said and done.

Still is 10 million less per season than Harden. And harden will be elligable to make that contract again and possibly a 3rd time if his body holds up well. So it would be a 480/10 year deal for harden if the contracts worked the same. A cool extra 140 million for harden even with inflation
