Is there one safety razor that is superior to others?

Feather blades are the sharpest.
Screw that Taylor crap....get some Hudson Made shave soap.

I like Merkur razors.
I use Merkur (Germany), Feather blades (Japan), and Proraso soap (Italy).
With Pinaud Clubman aftershave (US/France).

I am sure there are vastly superior safety razors.
I was pricing them the other day before I decided to buy one. I saw prices range from a little over 2 bucks (amazon) all the way up to about $400.
I went a cheaper route. I bought this one:
I wasn't sure if I would like using a safety razor & didn't want to spend a lot on something I may only use once. The Van Der Hagen was only 18 bucks. So, if I didn't like I would not be out much money. But, I actually love shaving with a safety razor. Even though the one I got was cheap it gave me a great shave. It gave me, by far, a better shave than the Gillette Fusion 5 I had been using.
I'm going to keep the Van Der Hagen for a while. It gives a great shave. The blades are a good price too; less than 3 bucks for a box of five blades. Not bad.
Down the road I am sure I'll purchase one of the higher quality expensive safety razors. But, for right now the Van Der Hagen is working just fine. Only critique about it is that I wish the handle were a little longer. But, it is not bad at all. I recommend it.
