That's what we all want

But no one is going to fork over $200+ million to dick around in the second division. If they waived the franchise fee to fill MLS II all those owners who paid would be pissed. Not to mention something like parachute payments for lost revenue once being send down.

But yea this causes the problem of nothing negative happing to a club who just mails it in, tanks or never makes any real steps to improve its squad.

I couldn't agree anymore with this. It sucks because a two-tier MLS system could become very exciting for the fans.

Not with a salary cap at least. If I could buy a team and spend what I want, knowing we'd buttfrick the 2nd division and be promoted, ok.
