I think they get in. I also don't think MLS has any intention to slow down membership. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they extend to 30+ clubs. For better or worse.

I think cincinnati gets in this next round of four.

23. LA FC
24. Miami FC (tentative)
25.
26.
27.
28.

29.
30.

30 teams is way too big and would essentially kill any depth the league has.

But if it came to that the league needs to go to 36 clubs and have MLS I and MLS II. But no owner is paying $200+ million for a second division team.

Sounds like MLS is looking to go only up to 28 right now....but that could no doubt change. As is stands now, looks like the following 12 cities are vying for those last 4 spots (assuming Miami finally gets its shite together):

Sacramento | St. Louis | Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg | Nashville | San Antonio | Raleigh
Cincinnati | Charlotte | Indianapolis | Phoenix | San Diego | Detroit

Based on this list and what Cincinnati have shown with respect to fan support, I think they have a good chance. I don't know anything regarding a stadium for the club, however.
