No shock, these sacks of shite always fudge the numbers and try to keep this shite quiet. I wouldn't be surprised if the mayors office isn't leaning on the media outlets either.
I used to be in the crowd that said the city is fine, and to just stay in safe areas, but this shite is getting out of hand. I can say for certain I'm going to be a lot more picky in choosing when I want to go into the city. Not worth dealing with the animals that inhabit the city.

For about the last year, my policy has been to not go east of Canal St. after dark and to go directly from restaurant or bars to hotel via Uber. Done are the days of walking long distances at night and cutting through abandoned streets and that is a damn shame.
