Dikdiks are basically little mini deer.

I'm not sure how anyone could shoot some of those animals in good conscience. Some of them are pretty sedentary and would literally have just laid there while they got shot.

There are quite a few animals in those pictures I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting. Seeing a dead hunted lion just kinda bums me out.

Remember this was 1909. As mentioned, the only way to learn about them is to have a body to study. Which means you can either shoot one or scavenge the savannah for weeks hoping to find an intact specimen.
