Or option three, save a pile of money by realizing that BREC is not capable of running a zoo like Audubon and that investing 140 million dollars with BREC in some grand scheme is foolish.

Instead let's fix up what we have now, improve segments until it's all modern.

This is not a racial issue, it's not a north v south issue; it's a financial issue. I have seen how BREC operates their parks, golf courses, baseball fields and their zoo; and I know they can't take care of what they have and giving them more to spend is crazy.

It's all of those types of issues depending on who you are talking to.

Brec does a damn good job overall. It's one of the few good things about this city honestly. I'm not big on the zoo either way but would obviously do much better closer to the interstate (south).

People in NBR want investment, they offer ways for us to directly make investment (greenwood) and it becomes a fight to keep something that they don't use or benefit from. Jesus.

It sounds like they are spending $100+ million either way. How can spending that much money on a proven unstable asset make sense. I'm not naive enough to believe building a new zoo won't cost more, but if we are spending that kind of money either way I would rather it be in a location that hasn't proven to be a failure.

I disagree about BREC, I use many of their assets on a regular basis and think they have made huge progress with recreational areas in this city over the past 10 years.
