Absolutely. Stand By Me was released in 1986. The Sandlot 1993.
I've seen Stand By Me but barely remember it. I could quote the entire Sandlot movie. I was born in 1984.

Both are great movies for very different reasons. I prefer Stand By Me, and I'm very much in The Sandlot generation.
I probably prefer SBM more though because The Body is such a great short story.
