9 hits against FSU. Not exactly cold. You can hit balls hard and get out. Doesn't mean the bats are cold. It's just baseball

I'm still waiting for Madking to get back on and tell us we're all pussies and how he would have done everything differently after the fact.

You can tell who's prepared to pitch in big situations and who isn't and that falls on Dunn. Preparation is key.

With Watson out, Poche will need to go at least 7 innings in a winning effort to keep our pitchers fresh.

Outside of Hess/Gilbert in relief, the rest of the pitching staff seems almost out of place.

WTF happened to Newman? I hope he can redeem himself because we're going to need him again if we are to come back and win this out.

Your assessment of the coaching staff in Omaha? by Spankem

Since winning the title, he's done pretty well this go around in Omaha.

In fact he has done a good job this season to be honest.

But he wasn't questionable. He felt fine Saturday after his bullpen

He had been having issues since the SEC tournament. The kid wanted to pitch in the CWS. PAWL should have let him pitch for a few innings against FSU rather than Poche. Once he pitched Poche, we were fkd if Walker couldn't pitch 6+ innings against OSU.

Wrong. Going into the game Monday night he had pitched 2 games going back to Hoover. 15.2 IP, 12 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 16 K. But yeah, "He had been having issues since the SEC tournament."

Everything is fine. They just need to re-focus, and play up to their potential.

Oh really? He sure didn't look like he was having issues in the SEC championship, or the deciding game in the regional...

Oh crap Watson is out? I hope Poche can sprint to center field after he lets the ball go.

What would you suggest is done to prepare the lower half of your bullpen to pitch in big situations?

I said since the SEC tournament. His problems started during the regionals.

This. Your DH isn't even batting .300.

So he's been having problems "since" the SEC tournament, but they started "during" regionals? Did I get it right this time? And is this the same regional where he struck out 8, didn't have any 3 ball counts, and went 8+ innings in shutting out Rice? That regional?

The same game as you. The injury obviously wasn't severe at that time. Throwing that many innings probably didn't help.

The only thing I want to know is, why the struggles in Omaha since 09? 13, 15 and 17 we've come into Omaha as one of the hottest teams in the nation, if not the hottest, only to have our bats go cold. Don't get it.

There is a reason for that, but I get mocked when I try to explain it.

Hint: It's hard to play at a high emotional level for four weeks straight.
