It may not have caused the loss, but in such a close and important race with that much money spent, why risk it over something so simple to correct?
He literally just needed to lease a new apartment. He didn't even have to live in it.

You don't think the GOP campaign would have honed in on that had he done that?
It wouldn't have mattered. As soon as the Paul Ryan linked PAC sent money down there and linked Osoff to Nancy Pelosi, it was over. Osoff probably wasn't winning before that happened, but that was the nail in the coffin. I live in a similar district in Alabama, though much more conservative. If there's one person people here hate more than Obama, it's Pelosi.
