Dark vs light color vehicles

I'm looking at buying a new truck. I really like the shadow black color but I'm concerned on how the color will effect the temperature on the inside. Does darker vehicles really make a big difference on the temperature inside the vehicle. I asked the dealer and he said it makes no difference. "A truck in the sun is going to be hot on the inside no matter what the exterior color is." Of course this is true but it's a vague answer. Does anybody here have a light and dark vehicle or have owned both colors and can actually tell a difference? Anybody avoid buying a dark color vehicle for this sole reason?

Darker colors get hotter faster. They also never look clean.

I always go for the midnight package. Black on black on black

I agree with dealer. Hot is hot. What matters more is the AC unit. Pick the color you want.

I have 2 black on black vehicles and one black on tan. They all get very hot during the summer but tan inside seems to cool off a little faster. It might be my imagination though.

I've had both and the dark color definitely seems hotter. Light colors are easier to keep looking clean too

The lighter the vehicle the easier it is to hide dirt/dents.

I've owned a black vehicle and owned a white. They both get hot, hard for me to say if there is actually a difference. I think it's more of the interior color that matters. Black leather can get hot as shite. Or at least it used to like 20 years ago.

This is why we only buy white or silver. Best colors for never showing dirt and scratches. The heat will get trapped in no matter what but I'd chose a light color just for the cleanliness

Just make sure you get the air conditioning seats

My last truck was silver. It seemed like it was hard to keep clean.

The difference is negligible. I wouldn't base my purchase on this.

My car is Carbon Black (which is actually very dark blue) and it's hotter than my last one, which was silver. However, some good tint helps a lot. I even had the windshield tinted with LLumar Air Blue and I highly recommend it.

My previous truck was black, current one is light gray. Don't really notice much difference in how hot they get inside when sitting out in the summer sun. But at least with the lighter color, the truck doesn't look dirty 2-3 days after it gets washed.

I owned one black vehicle in my life and never will again because of keeping it clean.

Lots of things can affect this. I had a maroon Ram 1500 back in the day, and had the windows tinted. It helped a good bit. I was living in south Alabama back then and summers were brutal. But it had cloth seats so it wasn't horrible getting in.
My next vehicle was a lighter colored SUV but with tan leather. That one always felt hotter when I got in because of the seats.

Vehicles are trashy. Ballers have robotic drones
