There's not a damn thing worth trying there. If your idea of seafood is previously frozen, fried everything, with views of brown sand, you're going to love it.

That's nonsense.

Try eating as Kranzler or the Palms. Grapevine Cafe is good for breakfast. We like the Wanna Wanna for drinks. Dirty Al's has good seafood as well. And I know it's "touristy" but the Sea Ranch is very good.

If you like to party, Clayton's is the place. There is a dance club in the Isla Grande (old Radisson) called the Quarter Deck that can get wild.

If you like to fish, Jim's Pier can hook you up for either inshore or offshore. There is some really great fishing in the Laguna Madre.

While the water isn't anywhere near as clear as the Florida Panhandle, SPI is the best beach in Texas. It is a substantial improvement over Galveston. It can get crowded and the traffic can get bad, so plan accordingly.

We were there for the day on Saturday. It was windy and the water was cut up, but it was still a nice outing.
