I feel like Embiid can only disappoint at this point. I fricked up and had Mike and Mike on the radio on my way to work one day and one of those guys said Embiid was probably better than Anthony Davis. That's? retard talk.

He's only played 31 games in a three year NBA career.
Here's what I'm wondering, if you're the 76ers, who do you handle his potential contract extension this summer with only 31 games to make judgement on. 31 career games isn't enough to give a max extension, that's for sure.
If they wait the season out, and if he plays in less than fifty games, I wonder what kind of contract they would offer him.

I never did really watch him play so no comment but this seems like a steal for the 76ers
I'm not sure I understand the celts position here unless they think they can wind up with a tier one player plus whoever they pick at 3

word is that it's the lakers pick or the kings pick plus #3
not both

While the rumor did feel agent sourced, if there was a team that would throw a 3 year Max at Holiday and sign his brother too it'd be the Mavs.

I don't think it's a steal for the 76ers. I've Read reports that the celtics were high on Fultz, but they were considering taking Jackson at #1. Also, they were interested in Tatum and Ball (but seeing how he won't work out for them, I feel it's doubtful).
So It's assumed the 76ers draft Fultz
if the lakers draft Ball, the celtics get Jackson (who they wanted all along).
If the lakers draft Jackson and ball falls to 3, the celtics could explore a trade with the suns, who are very high on Ball. Maybe that nets them another first next year and they can still draft a more NBA ready Jason Tatum.
It's win-win for the celtics.

So it's down to knicks and Pels...
Why do you assume that just because the 76ers traded for Fultz, they don't want Jrue?
They currently employ Gerald Henderson, Jerryd Bayless, and Nik Stauskas at the guard position. They will resign Robert Covington and still have plenty of money left over
So why not let Jrue and Fultz run together?
I obviously don't want that but I'm just trying to prove a point that the 76ers are still in play for Jrue

It's an embarrassment of riches to have all these #1s and picks. Why do we never have anything to show? Is our front office that incompetent?

I mean we have two top 15 players in the league. Yeah there's a lot of work to do with this roster, but I don't think that qualifies as "nothing".

I mean the celtics embarrassment of riches was based off of the incompetency of the Nets' organization.
The reason the pelicans don't have an embarrassment of riches in picks is that we are sellers and not buyers. The model of team building Dell has adopted was to go after young veterans (players right out of their rookie deals). I'm very critical of this method because he used many draft picks (cheap contracts) to acquire them (Holiday, Asik).
If finally paid off when he found an incompetent GM (enter Vlade Divac) who would give up so little for a superstar. There are a lot of times I think "Demps should have done this or that", but the caveat is that if any little detail goes differently, we wouldn't have had the pieces to make the Cousins trade happen.

definitely a win for the Sixers. they finally get to use a high pick on a guy with talent AND fit. no one else in that range matches that criteria for them as well as Fultz.
and they only give up 1 extra pick (w/ protections) to move up for the consensus best player in the draft.
for Boston, it's a little less clear for me. if they're right about Jackson (or whomever) v Fultz, that's a win.
i also think the cap difference between #1 and #3 (assuming they keep #3) will help them get to a max slot more easily. if i'm Ainge, i'm pushing for a max FA this summer and star trade before i have to make a decision on Thomas, Bradley, Smart.

Embiid was probably better than Anthony Davis
health is a factor and as my man Ben Golliver always says "the best ability is availability"
and yet, when Embiid was playing the Sixers were a legitimate NBA team (Net +3.2 with him on) and the Process Sixers with him off (Net -7.9 OFF). Davis was +1.7 ON and -8.7 OFF.
lot of noise there. and Embiid still has to prove it for more than 600 minutes, but if he's healthy and can replicate his work, he can be right up there with Davis.
