Dude's a fricking senior who just got drafted in the 9th. Get over it and pitch to your ability. Btw, I don't mean to imply that Poche will let it "wreck him mentally." I think he'll be fine and this comment is flat out wrong.

Fact is, we're trying to win the CWS and Walker has been the more consistent player down this stretch. If a player let's that get to them then they aren't a great player.

There are too few games left to worry about that now. Poche is not coming back next season. So as harsh as it is to say, his mentality as a result of such a move is immaterial to the lone goal...wining the CWS. If LSU can win the first two games it's going to be tough for someone to keep them from getting to the championship series.

Game 2 is either going to give LSU a shot to seemingly lock up a spot in the championship series OR battle to save their season. Poche hasn't looked good in his two postseason starts against weaker line ups than what he will see in Omaha. If PM doesn't trust him, now is not the time to hope he figures it out.

Team would not be at Omaha without Poche. He's the only pitcher to win 9 or more games each season at LSU, he's about to get paid to play baseball, he just graduated from LSU, and he's been dating a Saintsation. His mentality is strong, real frickin strong.

wrecking his mentality is less important than throwing the guy that gives you the best chance of winning. This should be obvious.

Personally, I think Poche will have the same effectiveness either way.
