Ladies and Gentlemen the sun will soon find it's home in the Western sky and it will be Saturday night in Death Valley.
Freaking Coach Canada sounds awesome and I hope he is:
"Been here since January 4th and it has been awesome.
The phone call from Coach O was humbling. To think about coming to a place - in my opinion the best job in the country.
On LSU's talent: It's exciting that every personnel group we may want to use, we can. That's an exciting thing and I think will create a challenge for the people we play, hopefully.
On where his energy comes from: I've got the greatest job in the WORLD. Who else gets to call plays at LSU?"
Wouldn't do a Coach O impersonation and busted out laughing.
Coach O:
"We need to get bigger, stronger and faster".
The player's impersonations of Coach O are hilarious.
"I like the impersonations, I like to have fun as a family, we tease each other and it's a good thing".
Talks about MC's gameplan in beating Clemson.
Awesome explanation on what it means to the program to bring the former players back.
"Haven't relaxed a minute, we're recruiting hard, sping ball has come, putting the new staff together was fun and exciting, but we're working 24/7". I believe him.
Had Christian LaCouture on talking about the injury, rehab, his family's house flooding and getting to wear #18. Seems really excited to be back and able to play for LSU.
Donte Jackson said he runs a 4.24 forty. Booger McFarland tells Donte that he weighs 290 pounds and that if Donte was 115 pounds heavier that Booger would be faster than him. Ha Ha
DAMN, they show a video of Donte jumping up and sitting on a stack of boxes that was taller than him - no hands. Pretty damn impressive.
John Battle talked about replacing Jamal Adams and being a photographer. He takes pictures at the baseball games. Said his best picture was at the LSU-Georgia game.
Danny Etling:"I get a daily Will Clapp story about him eating something, that wasn't his". Ha
Will Clapp and KJ Malone talk about Mr. Ronnie's donuts. They got a dozen donuts and ate 4 the next morning the other 8 were gone - Danny Etling and DJ Chark think Will took the donuts. Will tries to blame it on KJ.
Great show - would be better in August so I wouldn't have to be excited about what's to come and have to wait so long for it.

It's great seeing Etling being good friends with his o-line men. He'll need that chemistry this fall.

Can't wait to see this TEAM play. I think they might just surprise people. It's amazing what bringing people closer together can do for a team. Just might make you give that extra on a play or two that wins the game, when you play for your brother next to you and actually care about the team concept. This is the most anxious I've been in quite sometime.
People keep saying that not beating bama is what did Les Miles in and I don't believe that to be true. It's the way he lost to bama and even won some of his games. The team was just boring. The minute he left we set all kinds of records and that's not a coincidence and validated the firing in most fans eyes IMO. Here's to the future success of coach O and LSU. HTTDB

Still have to a legitimate passing attack. Nothing changes and I mean nothing until we are able to successfully pass the ball. I'm so ready to see that change.

You realize LSU was shut out at home Orgeron's first time facing them at LSU.
Here's hoping Canada cam reverse the offensive stagnation against them we've seem the past half decade.

You do realize it was the closest game we had with bama it sometime don't you?
Yes I realize because I was there and we had our chances. LF didn't have his greatest game because he missed many holes that were there, he simply didnt give his best effort. Besides that was with Les miles offense revamped. If that was Les Miles only loss every year and the game was played that close every year he would still be here.
You just made my argument for me. Even in the FL loss we looked great on offense, moving the ball down field all day. We couldn't get in the endzone, fumbled the ball on a couple of occasions basically the players lost that game. Those type of losses can be accepted once in a while unless it becomes a standard. The one at auburn and Wisconsin can't be accepted, where it was obvious that we should have won those game if not for play calling through out the entire game.
There was no effort from the coaches to try different things to get into the endzone. Les Miles was fine with punting the ball and letting the defense make a play. As a HC you shouldn't be ok with punting the ball all darn day, Les was. I don't know what people like you saw on the field when Les was here and then when he left because in my eyes it was a dramatic difference which showed me that Les and staff either didn't know what they were doing or simply didn't give a darn.
A punt should only be used when your offense has exhausted every option, if it doesn't work in drive one you should probably change it up a little at least. Les would run the same exact plays or offense on the following drive when the first one had no shot. This is what got Les fired. The shite was old and tiresome. Glad we've moved on from that clown.

God forbid someone comes on here and post something positive without someone coming in to bring down there mood whithin the first 10 comments. Geez some of you guys. If you can't be optimistic in June when can you be?

It's called the catastrophe syndrome. Nick Saban taught me about it.

1970s-era "wear 'em down" style Big 10 football mentality. It's what he knew. It doesn't work today.

Hey man, I'm not knocking the coaching staff. I'm just saying you picked a really bad example to illustrate your point.

Win or lose, I'll be happy if I dont know what offensive play we're running next.

LSU Football team is not a patsy anymore.
Let me put it like this. If the other football teams try to stack the line of scrimmage to keep stopping LSU running game.
LSU offense will burn them big time from here on out.
We have real college football coaches coaching the LSU college football team again. And not someone who cannot coach at all.

You don't have to. There is a group on here that if you don't just drink up everything Coach O and believe that he is the second coming of Bill Belichick means you hate LSU.
The "show" was a bunch of fluff, nothing more. Which is fine, but some act like it means EVERYTHING is better and perfect.
I enjoyed seeing and hearing from the players and the new OC. When they got to Coach O and his "one team one heartbeat" interlocking fingers speech...well I just think that is already played out and I only hear it out of his mouth occasionally, imagine how tiresome the players may get from hearing that crap...
anyway, you can't say one thing about anything football right now that isn't "in line" or you'll get ambushed by a bunch of Jim Jones type folks. Which is fine.
I'd love nothing more than to be 100% wrong on my feelings about the current head coach. I hope I am. i hope LSU wins every game by 30 points. I'll be the first to eat some crow.

Sometimes being a "fan" means not being an objective observer. That 's fine if it suits you.
Other fans elect to maintain their objectivity, as best they can.
No doubt, some are better than others at it.
I do not see how any objective observer can fail to have doubts about the LSU HC hire.
And like other fans who are more or less objective, I hope my doubts are dispelled.

Okay, since my thread has gone to crap I'm willing.
So you don't see how an "objective" observer can "FAIL" to have doubts about the Coach O hire?
Let's play a game, shall we? I'll list the things why I think any "objective" observer with a lick of sense could realize that anybody that thinks the hire is a failure or bad is just not being "objective" at all. You in turn can tell me the points you disagree with and why I should still think the hire was a bad one and have doubts about O and the program:
I'll list the point and give my *opinion of whether I think it makes LSU a better program or not:
1) Fired Cam Cameron - *YES
2) Fired Bradley Dale Peveto - *YES
3) Fired Dameyune Craig (recruiting coordinator last class - had a WR committed since the previous year and found out on signing day the guy would not qualify. Not a good WR's coach. - *YES
4) Fired Jabar Juluke - RB coach responsible for Derrius Guice going the wrong way and missing out on every RB recruit except one. - *YES
5) Extended Dave Aranda - *YES
6) Promoted Dennis Johnson (Meatball) who out-recruited Tom Herman for K'lavon Chaisson. He was and may still be the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2018 class. - *YES
7) Hired Tommie Robinson RB coach - the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2017 class. Has coached in the NFL as well as college. - *YES
8) Hired Matt Canada OC - the only Broyles award candidate on the offensive side of the ball last season. - *YES
9) Hired Mickey Joseph WR - has life long ties to the New Orleans and Louisiana and has been recruiting the area for years - *Remains to be seen
10) Hired Pete Jenkins DL - Probably the most well known and acclaimed D-Line coach in football - college and pro. - *YES
11) Responsible for Austin Thomas being at LSU. - *YES
12) Took over USC mid-season after they had gone 4-7 in their last 11 games and with the exact same team - same coaches, players, staff, admin, etc and went 5-2 including a win over the #4 team in the country. Going from 4-7 to 5-2 at USC. - *YES
13) Took over a lackluster LSU team and guided them to a 7-2 record breaking three all-time offensive records with a TE's coach leading the offense. And now he has hired the only offensive Broyles Award candidate running the offense. - *YES
14) Has coached under and owns 4 NC rings with coaches who could be considered the best two coaches to ever coach in college and pro football winning titles in both - Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll. - *YES
15) Is he changing the culture of LSU football for the better as has been mentioned by several current and former players and outsiders alike. - *YES
16) Is known as a great recruiter.
He was named the 2004 National Recruiter of the Year by The Sporting News and Rivals.com.
In 2011, he was named the Scout.com/FOXSports.com National Recruiter of the Year
In 2011, ESPNU/ESPN The Magazine named him the top recruiter in college football (and third best in all of collegiate athletics)"
In 2012, Sporting News selected him as the nation's No. 2 recruiter.
Rivals.com ranked him as the second-best recruiter of the previous 10 years (2002-11).
- *YES
17) LSU finished #7 on 24/7 and ESPN and #8 on Rivals after signing only 23 players and being the head coach for a matter of months. And this after Coach had shut down all on-campus recruiting during the fall semester including official visits even for committed players until a new coach was hired. - *YES
Sorry for the long post. Guess there is just a lot of information for "objective" observers to look at when trying to decide if the hire was bad or not and if they should continue to have doubts.
I look forward to knowing the above points you disagree with or points that counter what I posted that you know of, that I failed to mention.
